In recognition of the incredible contribution of our support worker workforce across England, the NHS England Entry Careers team is please to invite you to a national celebration event.

This virtual event will take place on Friday 14th November 2025 from 10-11.30am and is designed to showcase the breadth of support worker roles and celebrate their vital contribution to the NHS.

What to expect:

Opening messages of recognition from NHSE Chief Officers representing nursing, maternity, allied health professions and estates and facilities.
Career stories from support workers across professions who will share their personal journeys - speaking about their roles, the difference they make and why they are passionate about their work.

CAHPO BAME Strategic Advisory Group: Support worker, student or apprentice representative. The Office of the CAHPO is currently seeking one support worker representative and one student or apprentice representative to be a member of the CAHPO BAME Strategic Advisory Group. The strategic advisory group exists to advise the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) for England in relation to the ethnic diversity of the Allied Health Professional (AHP) workforce, ensuring policies and strategies are inclusive and diverse, and the AHP workforce represents the people and populations they serve. The forum will enable development of a visible and expert ethnic diversity leadership that will influence health and care policy development for the benefit of AHPs and the people and communities they serve. If you are interested, please submit an Expression of Interest no later than 17.00 on Tuesday 30 September 2025.

National leadership development programmes

Many of the NHS Leadership Academy’s national leadership development programmes are open and accepting enrolments, including the online free-to-access Edward Jenner programme and Foundations in System Leadership. There are also several apprenticeships available with the Leadership Academy’s programmes embedded, which can be funded by the Apprenticeship Levy.
